Deşi este o ţară turistica, legea după care se conduce Egiptul este Shari’a – legea islamică. Totuşi există atât musulmani, cât şi creştini, deci nu este obligatoriu să porti hijab. Însă trebuie să te îmbraci decent, fără decolteuri sau pantaloni scurţi, pentru că oricum o să ieşi în evidenţă, fiind albă între femei închise la culoare. Un voal sau o pălărie nu poate face rău, mai ales dacă eşti blondă, pentru că egiptenilor le place să atingă părul blond. Şi te va proteja şi de soarele puternic.

   Contactele intime de orice gen sunt interzise în public, aşa că încearcă să nu îţi săruţi iubitul pe stradă, chiar dacă cel mai probabil o să scapi doar cu un avertisment de la poliţia turismului.  Nici fumatul în public pentru femei nu este văzut foarte bine. Chiar dacă acasa faci plajă topless, la hoteleste de preferat să rămâi cu tot costumul de baie pe tine, pentru că majoritatea angajaţilor sunt musulmani.
